~poofmongoose and I started making our corsets back in September. It took three months and a couple of phone calls for the supplies to come in so we started making jackets too. We finally finished them in November and had a photoshoot today.
I FINALLY MADE A REAL CORSET YAAY.

Three layers: Black couture satin, heavy cotton twill, and some upholstery stuff. Flat spiral steet bones (14 in total, I think) in 1/2 and 1/4 inch. Faux boning casing and edging are pleather. I think there's...36 grommets? I pulled a tendon or something like that putting those in. There were about 12 layers back there and I had to take some out.
It's far from perfect but it's pretty good for not having done anything like this before. I got an A+. C:
The easiest part was probably the busk, the hardest being the boning channels. (Or at least getting them to look decent) I originally didn't want to make it out of satin, but fabric choices around here are limited. As soon as I finished it though I found my dream pinstripe fabric and I was maaaad. So I made pants.

The waist can go down to 20". My waist doesn't like doing that. In these pictures it's at about 22" 1/2. (down from 25"-ish)

And this is probably the only thing I've ever made that I didn't make a new pattern or alter it beyond recognition.
