EDITWow, everyone's been so nice!
However, I think I see the light, now. This is pretty fugly (effing ugly). 
There's so many things wrong. The thing I hate the most...is her face! >_____> I'm so sorry Katara...I do you no justice...

will not be tolerated. I will not hold any discussions or flame wars about different couples. This deviation is for viewing pleasure, only.When I saw Katara's mom on TSR, I just thought she looked so amazing and pretty!
Well, since Katara is the daughter of the chief, it's safe to give her the title of princess of the Southern Water Tribe.
This is her when she's about 16-17 yrs old. Anyways, even though I like Zutara, I still dislike the idea that she's a prize for either Zuko or Aang. I still picture her as an independent soul that would help lead her people now that Yue is the moon spirit. With her abilities and character, I think she's more than something to hang off of someone's arm.
I was sad the show ended, so I'm working on something that I felt like I needed to get off my chest. Zutara-related, obviously.
Besides, Bryke, be happy to know how many people like your show - shipping or no shipping. Also, I did this because I was having a bad week with drawings lately.

Something about the way she looks reminds me of Juliet from Romeo and Juliet. For a second I was wondering if this was part of a fanfic-inspired art? Nevertheless I love it

Bad week? Fugly? Nonsense! This is one of the most gorgeous character designs for Katara that I've seen on DA so far. Everything, including her face, blends right in to the priness theme. I imagine that this is what Katara will dress in when the Southern Water Tribe pulls itself back together and starts having formal state banquets again.

Wow! Katara really looks like princess just like Yue. She is the daughter of the cheif and very powerful waterbender so IMO this completely fits.
Also I completely agree about Katara not being some prize to for either guy. She strong idepantent woman.

I completely agree. Whoever Katara ends up with *cough*Zuko*cough*, she will a driving force in the Avatar universe, not arm candy.

It's a beautiful look for her. And I agree about Katara's character 100%. It shouldn't have mattered WHO she got with, but who she was at the end of the war.

And I totally agree with you. I would not want Katara to be given as a prize to ANYONE. However, Bryke seemed to make it seem like she was one. :/ I really wish they solved the argument her and Aang had before EIP, then the final ship outcome wouldn't have been so insulting to her character.

I absoltuely agree with you. Katara never struck me as the kind of girl who could (or would) only ever be someone's arm candy. Her personality and character is much too strong and independant for that to ever happen.
I'm so happy you updated again! Now, if only, dare I hope, for a revival of (how should i put it?) the Royalty series you started, what with Sad Toph and Katara's Hope and all that?

I could definitely see something like this, too, especially since Team Pakku was last seen rebuilding their sister tribe. For all we know, that could include ice cities and waterways to rival the North...and a chief upgrade for Hakoda, which could/should make him a royal chief. XD

while i personally wasn't pro-zutara i totally agree. i hate how katara was made out to be some kind of prize. she's an independent person. i love your idea of her taking over after yue became moon spirit. heck, maybe she did.

Yeah, I can wholeheartedly agree with your point of view on Katara. She can never be a second-best kind of girldfriend.
The ending didn't suit me either. All right, I am a Zutarian as well, but that was not the reason. The kiss with Aang in the end was simply so made-up. Without any explanation, without any visible emotional change from Katara's side. What made her change her mind? During the final battle, she was with Zuko and didn't see Aang fight. It seemed too unbelievable for me to like it.
In any case! Yes, there should be a lot Zutara art. Some things are on my mind too, I just need the time and mind to get it down
