SF2 intro never made sense to me until some internet rumour identified these two characters as Mike and Joe from Street Fighter 1. That would explain why Mike (SF2 full name "Mike Bison") doesn't have a teeth in SF2.

So, I will consider this scene to be a Street Fighter 1 flashback fight, with the objective to resume the previous (and first) game.

It is odd why they always choose Joe's punch to feature in SF intros. They have done the exact same thing in SF1 against a wall-brick and now against a black guy.

Joe's sprite is wearing his SF1 intro's jacket as well as his T-Shirt from this SF2 intro. Although I though his pants were blue in this intro, we can see in his SF1 sprite that he actually wears red pants. His body and shoes are base on Cody's SFz3 sprite, since, among other things, it was meant to be Joe in there, not Cody (which was a LAST-MINUTE change). Maybe I'll change his shoes a little. Anyway, he has some kick-boxing gloves that makes him look cooler.

Mike, on the other hand is based on Mike's sprite from SFz3. His clothes and shoes are based from his SF1 sprite and official artwork, but I had to add a white t-shirt since there's an official SF1 artwork (another one) where he is wearing a white shirt inside his red one. That white T-shirt might be the very same one he wears inside his boxing uniform (hard to tell since he is always ripping off his clothes... just like now, on this SF2 intro). I also added a necklace, just like appears in the original SF2 "vs screen" and took off his "M" haircut, since he only started to use that after being recruited by Vega as a drug dealer in Las Vegas.
