In the early 80's, Marvel created a new comic - The New Mutants, the first true spin-off to the highly succesful X-Men series. In The New Mutants, Charles Xavier, dying from an alien attack enlisted the training of nine young mutant students to his ex-partner, and ex-arch-enemy, Erik Magnus Lensherr - the infamous Magneto - in thew hope that he would teach them to control their powers and become the New X-Men.

However, with three members of that team killed, and the other 6 butchered and eventually gradually replaced with the hip and happening new X-Force, the comic and characters faded into obscurity, with some of the cahracters shipped off to the orther X-Comics.
Which was a shame, to be honest. So here is my interpretation of Rahne Sinclair, AKA Wolfsbane, one of the team's original 5 members, kinda updated and re-done.

In the real X-Men universe, Rahne Sinclair was a devout Catholic girl, a social retard brought up only by a strict Priest who treated her like a demon for her werewolf-like abilities. Rescued by Moira Mactaggert, who gave her the maternal love she had never felt, and raised by Charles Xavier as his pupil, Rahne learned to adjust to the New mutants like a family, and even found friendship with Cheyenne Danni Moonstar, alien-Robo-Baby Warlock and Boy-Next-Door Douglas Ramsey. However, following Doug's untimely death, Rahne became more and more out-going and feral, eventually evolving into the shambles of a character she is now. Sigh.

in my alternate Universe, rescued by Moira Mactaggert, Rahne Sinclair is a new girl in a new world. Going through puberty, she has lots to come to terms with - new powers, new abilities, new emotions. And although she is still the small shy girl who hides in the big crowd, she sure would like to try out these new emotions, especially with wallflower Doug...

But yes. I like this. a lot. I might make a series out of these, all with that nice big red X. And those heavy pencil lines too. Woohoo!

Oh. Just as note, the patch on her jeans marked Lila is Lila Chenney, the New Mutants' allie and one of the biggest pop icons in the Marvel Universe. So there.
