great! here's an improvement tip: the ghoul on the left of the barbarian needs an anatomy touch-up on his arm. can you tell me how you colored it that good?

For most of the coloring I've used one layer in overlay mode on top of all the other layers in photoshop. The barbarian and the ghouls are made up of only grey values. For the background items and the mountains I've painted directly onto those layers.
