This summer I was commissioned by Deviantart & SyFy to create a bus-sized illustration for promotion at San Diego Comic Con! The deadline was tight, the prompt was wide open, and I had an absolute blast with it! Attempting to evoke a sense of wonder, play to my strengths (cliffternoon and critters anyone?), and inspired by illustrations of migrating dinosaurs from books I had as a kid. The size and dimensions made it a unique challenge- start to finish on the iPad in Procreate- I created a blueprint for the piece and then split each major cluster of creatures into its own document, and combined the finished results in a master doc at the end!Related content

Absolutely awe inspiring! The glowing text adds such a wonderful atmosphere among the migrating creatures. I love all the different designs on the beasts! Just thinking of "bus-sized" makes my head spin. I wish I could see this printed at full size in all its glory! Very bus worthy.

Grand, elegant, and definitely evoking a sense of wonder. Their sinuous movement amidst bright sky gives the piece a combined feel of dynamism and the power of the ancient beings moving on their grand migration!
