I don't know how hard it is to get the blending that you do, but after seeing your awesome, colorful art for so long and now starting to really get into drawing, I am going to have to get some sometime and give it a shot.

Thanks! And thank you for the validation of the background, I am still wondering what the heck I should do. Backgrounds are really hard for me.

Of course I do. The colors are absolutely brilliantly blended together, especially since it was done in gel pens.

Oh, dude, if you don't have this red, you are missing a HUGE part of the color scale. Also, a company in the U.S. ( sure they get their product made in China though, typical.) has made neon colors with 3 purples, 3 red/pinks, a yellow, green, and 2 blues. I am so excited to have more of a scale, haven't used them yet. Blending the colors, I have 4-5 different ways I do it, I suggest playing around with them on different canvases/paper because that makes a huge difference on how you can blend them. Some paper is too absorbent to blend them.

The stupid thing with these american and english amazon sites is that they rarely send to Norway. So luckily I've had a friend whom lives in England, who buys the stuff (I give him money) and then he sends it all as a gift to me lol. It's pretty complicated and annoying...
But yeah, I've been pretty sure I'm missing that red, because I only have two kinds of red...the pinkish one in the neon color set, and the red glitter one, which I've used countless of lately...I really DIG this color...shame the glitter never shows, really because I love the effect...
Atm, I'm in a really tight position...both with money and ...everything else at the moment, but I'll have a look on ebay/amazon for this set you're talking about. It sounds awesome with more colors to choose from. I've also been looking at Prisma colred pencils...I really want that too.... but daaaamn they're expensive. So, at the moment it'll have to wait :/
what sort of paper are you using? I basically only have water-color paper and normal drawing paper lol. I also have a 'blender' from the pro-marker set, but I have NO clue how it works, because....it's not really doing much for me x)

I was lucky enough for my man's friend to just give him a set of Prisma colored pencils. He just walked up to him and gave him a 20 pack and said, " This is for you and your lady." I couldn't believe it because those things are crazy expensive. I hate money problems and hate money, in general. If I had money, I would buy so much art supply that it would be insane. I'm not crazy about buying shoes or clothes but....art supply, I could buy forever. It's just a shame that money problems can really stunt an artist's need to create and produce what is in their minds. It's a sad world.
I am actually using regular drawing paper here, with that being said, it is super sensitive to the gel. It starts to become soggy and warps, so I have to not layer all the colour on at once. It's bothersome, really. First time that I used just drawing paper. I try to stay away from watercolor paper because it absorbs the ink so rapidly that it drains the pen quickly. Blender? Is it just a clear marker? I have one of those and I don't know how to use it either....

yeeea I checked the price on prisma colors the other day and I was thinking 'maybe I should've wished for Prisma colors instead of tablet this christmas....but no...I can wish for prisma colors for christmas NEXT year....yay - I'm so smart" lol. I'm not in a hurry to get them. I have tons of art supplies, really...ofc, now most of them are old, but I have them. And I have like a whole chest FULL of notebooks for various uses. I don't use them so much atm, because they're down in a chest and I've not felt much like writing lately (hence late message) xD
Over the past year, I've gotten little income during the months, but I still manage to buy way too much art supplies like paper and gel pens and whatnot. If I had been smarter...I'd save at least half of that up for a situation like this.... so this year I will try to do with what I have or ...what I use the most, and just not spend so much money I guess. I hardly ever do other things. Most of my money goes to bills and food. Ocasionally I will get a game or something or play online with monthly payings, but that's about it.
Ghhhh I have to go. have to join my father to the shop and buy fruit xD Anyway... I use normal paper, but I've never been able to make the colors blend o.O And yeah, the blender pen, is just like you described...NEVER figured out how to use it lol. It's just like... it just makes the paper darker, but it doesn't blend the colors in very nicely xD

Hey, you! . Blending the colors, I have 4-5 different ways I do it, I suggest playing around with them on different canvases/paper because that makes a huge difference on how you can blend them. Some paper is too absorbent to blend them. Some paper can become soggy and start to peel, it becomes a bother.

Do you smudge the ink to soften it, I don't want lines when I'm filling in something you know. What kind of paper so you use? I hope you don't mind me asking all these things, I just want to improve and I have gel pens now so I want to know how to use them in different ways for different effects if that's even possible. Is that all you use in your pieces, gel pens?
