Description
Salutations, watchers and watcherettes...In keeping with my promise of instilling life to the Gallery, I've put my pride aside and decided to upload works (if disclosure agreements permit) as I finish it, whether they're worth it or not of being amongst what I consider my best.
This one will appeal to all of you Imperial citizens. An illustration of some of the legends of the Blood Angels.
I've always loved illustrating this Chapter and, even though the Ultramarines are the chosen ones to represent the best of the Astartes, they've always seemed to me to be very good examples of what a Space Marine is. In fact, it was even acknowledged by Horus himself that the Warmaster title should've been given to his brother Sanguinius.
So, important fellows indeed.
I tied to keep the colours very tight and in tune with the Chapter's scheme. Golds, reds and white are predominant. I've also used (at the express request of the client) the same composition of my Mournival piece and to great effect I think.
As usual, you'll be the true judges of this piece. I hope you enjoy it.

Left to Right I believe is;
Lord Commander Cervan Dante, Astorath the Grim, Sanguinary Guard Member, and Sanguinor, Exemplar of the Host.

I think the Blood angels are the truest of the space marines. Sanguinius genuinely cared for humanity. He wanted the Imperium to be a truly utopian state under the Emperor. If they had not divided the legion as per the Codex Astarties I am quite sure they would have had alot more power in deciding the future of the Imperium and not let it come to the state its in now.

ok so let me see if i get the characters right, starting on the left is Lord Dante, then Mephiston, followed by an Honour Guard, then either Sanguinius or Arkio

its only now I appreciate this chapter, back when I played chaos and orks I was pretty anti-imperium and this was a friends army, now I really like the imperium, would be a guard player if I started again

I instantly loved it! Each portrait has a lot of caracter! Asthorath and Dante are my favorite of the bunch. I, too, really like the depth of the Red you used. If I ever were to paint Blood Angels I would probably try that!

This is rather awesome actually, and another favorite for me. Though I'm not fan of the Blood Angels (Vampyr's.....), but I recognize these hero's though I can't put a single name on any of them.
