From Robin McKinley's book Sunshine (not your average vampire story).Con carries Sunshine to safety while relying on her magic to protect him from the sun. Yup, that's a magical parasol. Sunshine was supposed to be Con's lunch, but as you can see, he's on a serious diet. I'm guessing it's not Atkins.

Love this! The literal parasol you gave Sunshine tickled my funny bone a bit, but you know my favorite part? That you didn't try to make Constantine pretty. The book's pretty clear that he's basically-- how is it put? -- at a nadir of ugliness, especially after being starved and exposed to sunlight for ages and ages. I feel like this picture could be an actual scene out of the book-- thanks for not romanticizing it.

PERFECT. I keep seeing romanticized paranormal-romance-vampire versions of Con, and this is the first I've found where he appears as described in the book itself.

Harrison and Armstrong are also two of my favorites. I'm looking forward to Harrison's next book, which I think came out last month. I wasn't thrilled with Armstrong's last one...but I don't think any of them were as good at Bitten.
