Finally Finished! \^^/ A digital fanart of Kenshin (because my other latest one was done using comic markers) after 14 years! (Maybe I'll upload later my very first Kenshin fanart once I found it beneath my boxes of drawing lol)While doing this, the battle OST and the first ending song keeps playing on my head... T_T I don't know why... Just watched Rurouni Kenshin Shin Kyoto Hen some days ago and can't wait for the Part 2 to be released.

Apart from this, what have really dissapointed me was the fact that is a revision of the Kyoto Arc. I was watching it , and I was like "Okkkk, this is nice, but how about if they show us the Jinchuu Arc?", because it has only been animated and very briefly in the OVAs, and if I have to be sincere, when I heard there were going to do a new RK movie, OVA or whatever they want to call it, I was hoping they would explore more the only arc that hasn't been fully explored, or at least as it deserves, as it's the Jinchuu Arc. What do you think?

Well as for the design, what I like about it is that it is consistent when being animated. As an animator it's a big plus for me. But yeah, this Kenshin has somehow become empty and not much expression can be seen. I think the fault is not in the design itself as it was made as it is to be made the animation more consistent, but rather with the direction and the script itself that it why it made the new kenshin dull. They had to compact the whole kyoto arc into 2 or 3 episodes that's why a lot of those entertaining moments disappear.
I'm pretty sure if they had to compact the Kyoro Arc, they will do the same for the Jinchuu Arc. If they do want to maintain the intensity of the Jinchuu arc, then 2-3 episodes won't be enough. They have to made a new whole series for it, that's what I think.

Well, yeah, it's true that we have to take into account the new era of animation in terms of techniques and technology, which enables to create a much more spectacular mangas, but wouldn't it be better if, instead of doing a total new and different character design from the previous one, doing one based on Watsuki's character designs? Afterall, they're the original ones, and, at least for me, the best drawn character designs, or at least compared to the animation, being the late 90s anime or the current one. And why do they have to compact the whole arc? Why can't they do more episodes to cover all of the plot of the arc? Is it because this supposses a high cost for the animation company? But wouldn't it pay off for its potential high profits, and more, considering all the RK fanbase?
So you're saying that if they animate the Jinchuu arc the result would be something similar than what we could see at the OVAs? Because I really would have liked to see more of it, if you know what I mean. Although I wouldn't mind if they did a new whole series for the Jinchuu arc

Well probably the remake is just made to summarize. If they make the whole new series of the kyoto arc then the old one would be invalid. And yes, one factor would be the costing of the animation. The costing compare before and now are different as now they employ heavy effects done in editing rather than handdrawn so it's more expensive, what I think. We should also consider a movie coming out and some marketing stunts that they have spent their money on. And yes, it could happen to Jinchuu arc too unless they truly decided to turn it into series instead.

But that does not make any sense. I mean, what's the point of summarize an arc that has been already comprised into few episodes in the previous anime? Well, they could do a new version of the anime, more loyal to the manga than the previous one, as they did with Full Metal Alchemist. About the cost of the animation, I agree with you. It's true that now it's more expensive, but it's also true that it can also be more profitable, taking into account the massive RK fan base, and the potential one, as the current may have had not the chance to discover RK. Do you mean the live action movie that is going to be released this year? Personally, I prefer the anime version over the live action one. And well, they have 'wasted' money in PSP videogames about this anime, and in some of them the Jinchuu Arc appears, briefly, but it does appear, so why can't spend some money in animation the Jinchuu Arc? I'm not saying they should do an spin-off with this arc, but they could do something similar to what they have done with the Kyoto Arc for the second time, without limiting the arc to 2-3 episodes.

Such nice colors, and of course the coloring itself is <3. Really like Kenshin's eyes here, and theres a paintingish realism to it? Prob the backlight and highlights but I don't really know but either way its EPIC.
