'Alea jacta est' means 'The die is cast'; it appears a lot of times in Asterix comics and I really like the phrase

Yeah, a little. Was facing homelessness, my boyfriend/fiance was a scary, nasty, sadistic guy, I fell in love with someone who promised me the world then wanted nothing to do with me, been working up 50 hours a week on crappy wages... it's been a little rough over the last year or so, but things are really looking up for me now.

I studied that phrase at school, haha. It is Latin and it is what Julius Caesar the Emperor of Rome is reported to have said on January 10, 49 BC as he led his army across the River Rubicon in northern Italy. The phrase is still used today to mean that events have passed a point of no return, that you cannot take back what you have done.
