I've had a look at the original sketch, so the first thing to say is well done for the lineart, it can be so easy to make the lineart different from the original, especially with someone elses work! I'm not sure what CGing method you used (I glanced at the tutorial but didn't download it) but my first bit of advice would to make the lines slightly thinner on an image this size, the lines are very bold!! I love your use of colour, especially on the robe, using a purple colour rather than just using a darker blue!!
It may just be my personal preference but I would rather use a more structured use of highlight and shadow, rather than sections, if you get what I mean? it just makes it more defined...but as I said, that's just me! Plus, it also depends on what you're trying to achieve!! In this case, the colouring is very dream-like and soft...but the lineart is bold and cartoony...does that make any sense? if not, I'm blaming the fact I have flu!!
All in all, it's a very good piece, you should be very pleased with it! You're very good with Photoshop, my advice next would be to keep researching different methods via tutorials!! And good ol' fashioned practice!!
Hey, I can send you one of my old sketch pieces if you ever want something to work on? let me know!

Okay first off:
THANK YOU. This is the kind of critique I wanted when I first got here. I want to get better, and the only way to do that is to know what is wrong or could be improved. I thank you for taking the time to write a sincere review of my picture. You deserve a hug!
Okay, now to the critique.
Thank you for the compliments! Layers are wonderful things, as is the Pen tool. And hue-shifting when shading is a great help.
I fill the section of lineart with color by selecting the area with the Magic Wand, then expanding the selection by a few pixels, then drop to an empty layer below it, and paint it the solid base color. Then I shade by making a new layer above the base color, and grouping it with the the previous one, and using a round, soft brush on 20% opacity, on the grouped layer, I shade with a darker, more blue color, on any color but blue. If it's blue, I shade with purple. Anyway, I keep getting darker and shifting hues until Iget it looking the way I want.
I'm not sure, actually. Sorry... What exactly do you mean by structured? Like, a unified light source? Or a little more advanced?
I wasn't really going for any kind of style or mood, I was simply filling in the color with what I felt looked good. Now that you mention it, it does look dreamlike. ^^ The lines are a little thick, and I tried to fix it by pointing the ends of the lines to diminish the appearance, but they're still there. I was thinking about re-doing this, actually, maybe in a little while. Then I'll slim down the lines I use, and implement a few other changes I had my eye on. Yes, it makes sense.
Thank you, I am proud of it. ^^ Definitely better than a lot of my other pictures. I've just had practice with PS, that's all! I will take a look into that. I'm sure there are many great tuts here. And I am the master of practice!
And sure! I could always use some more stuff to color, but I can't start anything yet, as I have two requests to finish first.

My signature is actually part of the main chorus of the song "Noypi" by the Filipino Rock band, "Bamboo."
It means something like, I
I'm Filipino, I am certain of who I am and what I am.
