Thanks! And he can be a big sweetheart when he wants to, sadly a lot of them are put in shelters since people don't research them beforehand and don't realize what a primitive breed they are >:

There DNA is a 99%
Β match to a wolf. There the closest thing to a wolf dog wise. And some have the attitude of one. You cant hit them or they will attack so people tend Β to not think and when they bite or when they get to hard to handle they dump them.Β
i had a red shiba for 16 years and now i have a very bitey black and tan shiba who is in her teething stage and is 5 months. She is a devil more then our old Red shiba was. But we love her none the less and plan to get another red in a few months so we have two.

Shiba inu are one of the oldest breeds of dog, and act very primitively, they're mouthy so they like to chew on stuff, and they're one of the hardest breeds of dogs to train. A lot of people get them with the idea of 'oh look a little fox!' and don't realize that they aren't going to act like a lab, or a GSD

Well, that's good to know. I also really like them because I think they're adorable, but I think it's good to do your research before buying an animal. You should make sure you can provide what it needs before you spend your money and then welcome it into your home, only to realize that you can't take care of it and sending it back. That's just sad.

Oh, me too. That's why I usually prefer cats to dogs. I like how independent they are; how they go off and do their own thing and are able to take care of themselves really well.

Yeah, same! I've had a lot of 'normal' dog type dogs but after one shiba I'm going to find it hard to ever go back to a different breed
