its the weekend again so its time to do some artwork for my own personal collection.This time i decided to update my Lieutenant Uhura picture by giving her a new pose.

I've met Nichelle Nichols last year at a comic book convention, and she was so kind and gentle. I even gave her a picture I drew of her. She liked it so much, that she gave me an autographed picture of herself as Uhura. That really made my day. I loved her so much. I drew the picture the night before the convention, and submitted it to my Deviant Art page on the same night. It is still there, If you want to look at it. This picture may not be as fantastic as mine, but it does her justice. Btw, excellent work.

i have heard she is really nice to meet. i would love to get the opportunity to meet her some day. i guess thats the problem with living in Northern Ireland. we dont get a lot of sci-fi conventions over here

True story: after the episode with the infamous Kirk/Uhura smooch aired, Gene Rodenberry pulled Nichelle Nichols aside on the set one day to show her a letter that had come from a southern, televangelist preacher. The letter declared "I do not approve of a mixing of the races-but when a man gets his hands on a woman that good looking he does what comes natural!"
