Description Another environment taken from a set of concepts based around 'The Scar' by China Mieville. This one is more of a landscape.

bellis is hesitant, not wanting to cross over into the boat city, ominous characters await her arrival.

I roughly sketched out character and landscape in painter, and then using 'Artist oils' within painter 9 i just built up layers trying to keep the marks as natural as possible.

Its kinda dreamy and abstract, which makes me like it even more

hmm, looks great, you really made the armada look surreal and sort of nonexistant in our concept of the world.

hia
looks great. But i didn't understand what the context was-...? the character is really good. I like the way she looks unsure.

I suppose its context .. as alan puts it...is a 'Representational pictorial illustration'. Ive taken a scene from a book and illustrated it. It could be used in a storyboard for an animation or film, showing a main character as well as the entrance to a main city within the text. Its context wasn't very obvious (along with the entire project).... you live and learn.

Glad you like it
