Description Chelsea II

Lifestyle shoot for Michigan based company Stoke International

They are about to launch their online store. =suzums came on the shoot, too. She created some incredible images for them--better then mine in my opinion! Though I doubt she'll be posting those here. You'll have to check her flickr.

hi niimo, Ive been watching your work for a long time... and most pictures I dont comment on, but this is one of the few I feel I should congratulate you on. I like it better than most of your others. And the color is a little surprising given most of your b&w images (even though I liked the colored sunset picture a lot too)
but as an aspiring fellow-photographer, I must ask how you got the picture to look like this? Im an amateur in all aspects of photography, but I at least know how to set up most shots... but they usually involve computer editing or actual sets. considering this was done with the last rays of the sun, and most of your pictures arent digital, I was wondering what settings you used to get this effect... do you mind sharing?

First of all, whether film or digital, if a photo needs post-processing in photoshop, I do it. Film does need much less, though.

This photo is of course, digital, as you can see the EXIF data shown. It was shot RAW in aperture priority. I always shoot in RAW when shooting digital. There really are no secrets here, no filters or special photoshop plugin. I used the sigma 12-24mm and the lighting was awesome. Even my photoshop techniques are not very special. Just little methods I learned here and there while working with the program.

I haven't been replying much to comments, I came across yours sort of my accident. I do appreciate it, if you want a for sure reply, don't hesitate to send me a note. Thank you always for viewing!

The composition is great. I like how you've used light to your advantage. I'm wondering where the sun was. To your right, right?

Hi, thanks! Our timing was just right for this, in fact, when we arrived at the spot we thought we were too late. But she braved it out and got in the water to get in the last rays of light (mind you she got soaked! ) Yes you're right, the sun was setting on the other side of the island, to the right.
