Are they hard to use? I've never really heard anything about them and I'm trying to expand my horizon, so to say.

Nah, not really. It just takes a little while to get used to looking at the monitor and not our hand, less you get a tablet that displays it on the thing you're drawing on.
But they are really good, and teach you a lot about how to go about doing everything. I love using mine ^_^

They would be compatible. Its good to read up on the one you wanna buy first and ask all the questions, but it should be. Its kinda like a mouse, in a way. It plugs in via USB port. ^_^ Yeah.
