I have to fix the entire computer first! (getting there in a very slow and agonising perpetual headache kinda fashion XD)

I got there eventually as far as fixing up software goes.Β Now I need to work out why it's occasionally hanging so unrecoverably not even the reset button works (have to actually turn it off and then back on again).

hmm that sounds like overheating... get gpu-z and cpu-z and check the temperature. Β
π: 0 β©: 1
Ryivhnn In reply to Nikola3D [2017-04-03 00:40:23 +0000 UTC]
Shouldn't be overheating, I have a million fans in there D: and I have something that checks the cpu temp and it never spikes except when I'm rendering (or something else is munching cpu).Β Suspect it's dust (I need to get a compressor) or hardware issue.Β Really hoping it's the former as that's easy enough to fix XD

Its recommended to clean a computer after around 6 months if its in daily use. (I clean mine after 3 months cos i don't turn it off at all... its rendering stuff all night...) Β
After looking around on the internet for the problem, most people say its the power supply or the motherboard. But some people recommend trying also reinstalling or updating GPU drivers Β (its the easiest thing to try... it myth help). Ether way, good luck with it hope you fix it soon!Β Β

The gpu drivers recently got reinstalled (I think, running Manjaro for the first time and it seems to do an incredible amount of things per update) and it seems to be a bit less flaky so hopefully that was it.Β It does need a good cleanout though as it doesn't turn off except on the rare occasion that I'm away for longer than a couple of days.

Thanks! mmmm chocolate wood... well it just need the saturation tuned down. I didn't do any editing on it, just took it from here fav.me/d888osc and slapped it on the material ball.
The chocolate wood mat is also used here:Β fav.me/d92bu24 Β fav.me/d9cve7g

Looks really good when applied to a model.
I would not have guessed that.
But now that I have this thought in my mind I might actually
create something involving chocolate-wood ^^

Go for it! I'd really like to see what you make with it.
Also fell free to edit it as you like cos these mats are meant to be a starting point.Β
Of courseΒ you can use it as it is, but it myth not fit you're scene as it is now.
Never the less have fun with it!Β Β
