Ya, been there too but not too often. When I do have problems I remind them that its different through the lens rather than what the "feel" the shot is looking like. Most settle down then. Thank God for digital photography you can show them immediately now. In the old film days they'd have to wait a couple of weeks before they believe you.

lol true i love love love digital glad i was born in this age so much to love and learn but i do feel we lost something with the transition digital quick easy but you use to have to work hard to create a master piece now its get on the computer and you can make a "masterpiece" with photoshop so its harder to make a true work of art if "everyone" can do it not that there work isnt nice but how do you stand out from the others how do you not get lost in the hustle i love photography ive been snaping pictures since i was little my first camera was a disposable mostly half captured self photos and what ever i thought looked cool but its those moments that made me love it more umm think im rambling now please forgive me my mind wonders off without me sometimes

Ahh, its ok.......you're talking like a true photographer. I do agree we've lost something w/ digital. Skill and technique is sort of lost because of the computer but the eye and image are still the same. Its hard to teach someone the "eye" for truly great composition.

im more of a moment by moment i enjoy the random shots in life but i can appreciate a well taken posed photo i try for grace and elegance over anything when i do a posed shot and thank you lol im not the best and i have little skill but knowings half the battle and i learn something new with every shot i feed on that knowledge i enjoy it and have a strong desire to try again in hopes that ill learn more i do it because i enjoy it and not so much for the money aspect though im sure with time and practice i could make money off them but i feel if i make money from them that ill lose that passion and desire in hopes of a bigger pay check the thought frightens me

When I pose I dont really pose them. I just ask them to stand in a place and I talk to them and make small comments. I try and make them look as relaxed and natural as I can.......I find jokes work well

i have a morbid sence of humor so most often the subject finds me disturbing rather then funny BUT im a possitive person so i move forward with the shooting and simply discuss hobbies likes dislikes future plans things like that anything to keep them comfortable and focused though most of my "subjects" are friends or family ive had a few random incounters where i liked their "style" or "look" and requested to take photos i do however wish to tell you i am greatly enjoying this conversation its often hard for me to find others to discuss such things with thank you

Anytime, I enjoy it too. The hardest thing I find is if I see a person I'd like to shoot ( I have so many ideas in my head) and approaching them. Me being an older male I'm sure all they think is "FREAK"!....lol. I still approach however and have been lucky to have ppl interested. Having my portfolio w/ me helps and I always give references. Right now I'm looking for a blonde w/ green eyes (guy or gal) cuz I want to get some "sunny" shots. Hopefully I find one soon. I also want to shoot some star trails but I have to find a location where its pitch dark. Im gonna have a tent in the foreground and illuminate it w/ a flashlight. It'll be a fairly long exposure. Hopefully this summer.

that sounds like alot of fun the best thing about living in arkansas is i can find beautiful outside areas to photograph i have been rejected a few time since my portfolio is small and only has a few well place shots i usually state that i would enjoy photographing them if they are interested of course being a young pretty girl does help my cause lol there is a photography place where i live that gets well they get pissie when i photograph in this area so i usually have to leave or take them someplace "hidden" i give the "subject" the better shots and keep then place them in my portfolio not a cost affective way of doing things lol but i do all my stuff from home david gets annoyed when i get going there is no entering the kitchen lol as far as my deviant its here for fun photos of family and of course me (concieted moment) but in all reality i rather be behind the camera i have had some ask me to allow them to take photos because of my eyes but im your average red head green eyed girl and my hieght and wieght is often a problum as far as being photographed but no one said i couldnt photograph others lol

Ten Nikon bodies and counting. 11 lenses, five flashes. Vert grips on everyone.......I even have a hat and t-shirt.......no, I hate Nikons.....lol. It was a dream of mine when I was a kid. In 1996 my Canon got shutter shear and I went for the big change and never looked back.

i just ordered a new nikon ive managed to almost completly distroy this one but this ones a lil fit in your pocket coolpix i think i like the nikon coolpix they are nice but my mom has a fancy nikon i use when i need the "pro" shots lol
