I tried a little harder for this, yes.I have no tablet so it's quite frustrating to draw using my hands on the laptop.

I only read one comic with Sabra in it, it was an X-Men comic and I believe she was fighting Marrow. The dialouge was super clunky with her going out of her way to let you know she was from Isreal. This is a cool depiction though, her hair and frayed cape especially.

I usually read about her in the pages of Hulk,I remember some great art of her by Dale Keown.

She's one of the lesser known Marvel characters, but quite cool.
I used the lighten brush to create it.

A handy tool! Can I ask if you use a tablet with your digital art,it's really frustrating trying to draw by hand on the laptop but I'm not familiar with tablets ,are they easy to master?

LAN0RA In reply to nikoskap [2016-05-29 08:50:09 +0000 UTC]

I use a tablet monitor called "Wacom Cintiq 21UX" for most of my art--it is an older, outdated model by today's standards.
I have a smaller version of it that is portable that I use for my laptop that I tend to draw only less important pieces with--
but all of my editing is done on my laptop (the pressure sensitivity is not as good on the smaller version as it is with the larger,
but still a very useful tablet to have and preferable to just a regular tablet with no screen to draw on).

It took a little time to get used to drawing with these tools, but once I did,
it was well worth the investment since you can draw directly on the screens.
There is always a little bit of calibration issue (as in the cursor is not perfectly below the point you touch the stylus to),
but the only thing I would trade my tablet monitors for is a brand new version of the newest
model of the same things (if I could afford it, hehe).
If you are frustrated by laptop drawing, I would suggest getting a tablet.
--Always go with the Wacom company, too, btw. Best one out there.

I also highly suggest to anyone to get a screen protector sheet for the larger glass (Cintiq) version
because paying 50 dollars for a screen protector is better than paying over 400 dollars to replace the glass if it breaks.
(and yes, it happened to me--but 400 is still better than another 2300 dollars for a new tablet monitor,
so I coughed up the money a few years ago and there have been no problems since --
apparently, it's a common thing for dust or particles to get under the screen and
make it break when you press down on the stylus tool --and it was just out of warranty when it happened to me.)

Thanks for the info, didn't really know there're monitor tablets, I had the impression they were like oversized touchpads, lol!
Don't think I can afford anything fancy I'll look for the small ones.

The simpler ones are like that
I went waaaaay overboard about six years ago-- I said to myself;
If you want to be a professional, then get what they use so you can keep up!
Although, I did start out with a simple one like the "Wacom Intuos" which has no screen on it.
I drew this old drawing with an Intuos:

So, they are definitely good even if you don't get the one with a monitor on it.
You can get an Intuos for about 180 to 250 dollars nowadays (and it can be wireless, too!)
You just have to get used to looking up at the laptop screen instead of down at where your hand is drawing, heheh!

The ones with the monitor, do they include drawing software or you have to buy and install one?

LAN0RA In reply to nikoskap [2016-05-30 00:59:34 +0000 UTC]

You have to buy and install a drawing program if you don't already have one-- or if you use photoshop, it works fine with that
There is a driver for the tablet you may have to download, but it's free and available on the website for Wacom.
