Askeladd and his devoted Bjorn, from the most amazing manga that has ever been made, VINLAND SAGA.
I can't express how much those two characters impressed me and shocked me and made me cry like a little girl so much it took me years to actually make fanarts of them.
One-sided absolute devotion. Even having a hole in the guts Bjorn cared to ask about Askeladd's wounds. Only Bjorn understood how lonely and hateful Askeladd was under his nonchalant attitude. And it all tormented him so much he had to confess it as he was dying: he wanted to be his friend. Damnit.
Now excuse me, I'm going to hide in a corner to cry my eyes out for them.

Dude! This is INCREDIBLE! What a gorgeous tribute to these two guys! I have a giant hole in my heart from Bjorn's diehard dedication, belief, and true understanding... of his understanding of the even of the darker and crueler parts of Askeladd. Even on his literal death bed he still wanted to be Askeladd's friend, even while understanding (oh god, because he knew) that in any other moment Askeladd would never have accepted it, because he could never find it within himself to befriend a Dane..., SJKTHASKJTHSA

I can't tell how many times I read this chapter, how much I felt the ANGST and the exact same giant hole in the heart when I understood Bjorn had such a major platonic man-crush on Askeladd. And Askelaad's silence was so meaningful too !
(...And now I still can't get them out of my mind u_u ...! I want to do a short dojin now, but I have no free time ! But i'm sure I'll do it anyway!

I've re-read Vinland Saga several times, but that particular scene I've read dozens! I love it! Every time I read it again it gets more vivid and I notice all the little things, the little changes in expression and ughuuuuu
I've been wanting to draw a doujin for those two for AAGES (here's a few doodles I had for it, way back [link] ) and seeing your pic has reminded me of how much I wanted to draw it ;-; 
I wish there were Vinland Saga doujinshi out there! Insofar as I know there are none (except maybe on pixiv) D': There needs to be more Vinland Saga love out there!

Tiens ben d'ailleurs, tout à l'heure je relisais quelques chapitres de Vinland Saga, et j'ai remarqué que beaucoup de personnages portaient des pendentifs comme ça ! °3° c'est donc mjoooolniiiir !

C'était le talisman le plus porté car Thor était un dieu populaire. Il n'était pas guerrier, et plus clément avec les hommes. Il était protecteur et bienfaiteur.
Comme les missionnaires chrétiens n'ont pas réussi à contrer le phénomène, ça a subsisté jusqu'à aujourd'hui
On peux penser que dans VS, ils le portent surtout avec le vœu "pourvu qu'en face ils castagnent pas trop fort >>;"
J'aime la poésie et la tendresse qui ressort de ce manga
