Description I'm watching Granada right now, and aside from Brett doing a most perverted Holmes (God, I wish I could see him with Law!Watson <3 <3) there was ALOT of tension in this scene, which is in reality much longer XD

Sticked to my own version of the characters, sonce Granada!Watson is old and ugly, and I can't do Brett!Holmes justice

Yeah, I never liked the old-Watson thing, but at the same time he's one of the cuddliest Watsons, so it kinda makes up for it <3

Yeah, I just picture Granada as an Alternate Universe where Holmes and Watson are like 15-20 years older than they were in the stories.

Yeah~ Imagine if they had gotten around to doing Granada when the actors were younger <3

this first Granada Watson really looked like Watson and acted like him too, he was perfect with brett, the second one I couldn't stomach he was so ugly. really like this and glad you used more of a real Watson instead of the second Watson. (shudder)

I half-agree. I prefer to draw David Burke Watson over Edward Hardwicke Watson, but I appreciate Edward Hardwicke just as much as David Burke.

I have to point out that David Burke is not 'the real Watson,' as they are both Watson, and Edward Hardwicke simply symbolizes the age and years taken through grief and suffering.

Edward Hardwicke was an amazing man; a great , long-lasting friend of Jeremy Brett until the end when Jeremy became extremely sick and died, always doing what he could for him and just being there for him.

I understand your preference of David Burke Watson, but there is no need to openly say that you 'shudder in disgust' at Hardwicke's 'horribly ugly looks' because the only point that you are demonstrating to us is the judgmental nature of humanity.

I wish no ill upon you, but please think before you speak. He was an amazing man and treated everyone and everything with the respect it deserved, and does not deserve such insults. The 'shudder,' 'I couldn't stomach he was so ugly,' and 'the real Watson' were hardly neccessary and you could have delivered your point without such rude remarks, and perhaps even delivered your point better.

I didn't like Edward Hardwicke Watson for quite some time; I didn't exactly think he was repulsive, but I did not find him attractive; but I was soon to give him some time and warm up to him, and I, in turn, now enjoy David Burke and Edward Hardwicke equally in their own respects more than ever before. ♥

Well I apologize if you are offended in any way, but I could not stand to look at him, that is my opinion this is your opinion, if you like him then good for you. There is no need to try and cram your opinions down my throat my dear! Also it is not just how ugly he looks but I did not like his acting either, it was lacking and I didn't feel the on screen closeness that David burke and Jeremy Brett portrayed, I felt that Hardwicke's persona was dull and could in no way compare to Burke.  Have a nice day I feel compelled to tell you that this discussion is at a close.

Right? There's a long story of being rude to poor Watson about his age and his looks... I'm so glad we have entered different times now <3

Brett = Pervert Holmes? ROFLMAO WTF!

"Oh, Watson, this is just like the old days......" I have to admit that after he had said that in the episode my face was something like this ---> ._.

......then I laughed. Lol, maybe it's because Brett was bisexual? Haha, having the ability to flirt with both women and men...XD

But it was very weird that Watson didn't hug him. Even though Holmes was all like: "Come to my arms, let's hug!"

Have you watched other Sherlock Holmes series/movies btw?

This is a very correct analysis, right through :'3 It's the kind of things my brain is occupied by *___*

And oh yes... Almost all of them ^^ Not the Russian one though, but I'd like to :'3

.....The 09 movie was...very...suggestive you know...ಠ_ಠ And RDJ loves Holmes/Watson fans rofl.
Oh, the russian one has some slashy undertones too. XD Damn Livanov and his intimate smiles (almost as flirty as Brett). On the epiode Hunt for the tiger it seriously looked like they were going to kiss. >xD But they were interrupted, lol.

Hanachino-Hime In reply to Nimius [2011-01-31 13:28:53 +0000 UTC]

No need to apologize. ^^

Wow the next movie....I wonder is Mary still alive on that? And Moriarty appears? And we get to see Holmes in drag...oh god.

I heard that the woman who owns rights for Sherlock Holmes at the moment didn't like when RDJ "suggested that Sherlock Holmes might be a "very butch homosexual" and that he and his trusty sidekick might be "closer than just out solving crimes."

....then why isn't she offended by the bunch of other work that suggest the same? People have always done that. :/

I always thought that not hugging your friend who came back from the dead was weird. I mean! if my best friend "died" and then came back, I would hug her and never let go!

I knew Watson couldn't hold himself back for long

Well it really depends on which Watson you are talking about because the first Granada!Watson, played by Burke was much younger looking then Hardwicke. But I don't think that either is ugly, old in Hardwicke's case but not ugly.

Still I would have loved to see Brett with Law tooXD.
