Description I love the "Dragon Riders of Pern" books so I thought I would do a "pern" style dragon. He might not be a true green pern dragon but he has some of the features.

Artwork is done in Prisma color colored pencils and done much like a painting. There are layers and layers of color in this artwork.

Paper size is 8.5" X 11" but could be cut down to fit in a smaller frame if you like. Artwork is about 7" X 5"

I'm confused-- does she have three eyes? Or is that a jewel in the middle of her forehead?

(Greens are females, just FYI!)

Yeah, most of the book covers weren't terribly accurate, even if the art was quite nice. I suggest you check out the Dragonlover's Guide to Pern if you're really interested in reading up on their physiology, though. Dragonsdawn also has a good bit of info about their appearance, as it's set when they were first designed from fire-lizards.

Yeah I have the guide but they look too "bug" like to me, but I do like the look of the dragonets in the guide. That's why in the description of this art I said "pern" style dragon & that it's not a true green dragon, but some of the same features, (ie, smooth skin, compound eye) ^_^ And I know that Pern dragons don't have stones set in their foreheads, but then again I've never been to Pern LOL

That link failed epically. Just check out the Dragons (Pern) article on Wikipedia and read up on their physiology.

Yeah there is some debate on these dragons because the guild made them look one way & the book covers made them look another. I took the style mostly from the books but it's been awhile sense I've read them.

It is nice art, but it really doesn't look like a Pernese dragon: [link] (Pern)#Physiology

Before I even read the title I thought to myself, "This is what Dragons from the McCaffrey series would look like".
