Description I started an Emerald Nuzlocke Run today. I never thought Playing Pokémon could actually be this fun--or intense... I never thought before to fill in all the mindless gaps where you're just running around endlessly, carelessly, recklessly, to wipe out opponents' teams of Pokémon and get to the Elite just to find that basically there's nothing left  for you to do..

But now I'm freaking out when my Pokémon's health gauge falls into the red. I'm putting thought into their names (I never bothered with this before because I was so obsessed as a kid with organizing them and to give them nicknames disrupted the ORDER) and creating relationships between the Pokémon and the trainer and it's more alive to me now than it ever has been and I know this sounds weird but in a way I'm actually super grateful for this idea and how it's giving me the chance to feel like, in a way, I'm playing this game for the first time again though to be honest I've only ever beaten Yellow and Silverpleasedon'tjudgememystory'sreallycomplicatedokay?okay

Anyway. These fine furry fellows are Gale and Gusto. They actually aren't really crazy or menacing, like, ever, but they are brothers and are having fun pretending to be intimidating. Gusto is actually of a Timid nature, but the story I've written for him (and hope to be comicking) is that he was abandoned by a former trainer, and, starving, was aggressively protecting a bit of food he'd found. I had my Mudkip, Sibyl, hold him down with a Tackle so I could take him to a Pokémon Center to heal him up and feed him. Because of how valiant he was being despite his typically shy and quiet nature, I named him Gusto.

Later on, in the Petalburg Woods, we were met by another hostile Poochyena who was basically on border patrol. Gusto fought him to the edge of his stamina, but then held back, realizing suddenly that this was his brother, from whom he'd been separated for a long time. After some catching up and a quick visit to the family, they returned and I named the newcomer Gale for his stout, firm attitude (I wanted it to be alliterative with Gusto, and Gale was perfect because they both have insinuations of weather if you look at it right). And so yeah. I'm still deciding why Gale decided to join up--either simply to stick with his brother or for the adventure? Who knows.

Anyway, This is them fixing to demolish the twins on the Route 104 bridge. It was a perfect setup, and the image in my head of them working together to intimidate both the little girls and their lame-o Pokémon was just too perfect to not put down.

But yeah. Gale picks on Gusto all the time older-brother style, but of course Gusto's gonna be pushing Gale's buttons just as much, so they're even.
