My father sculpting. March 2007.Just got some scans of negs. I messed up the development and most of the photos turn out not good at all.
Edit levels/curves.

Is Voigtlander R3M or R4M good cameras? Thinkin about buying one. The problem in my head is, if they only are compatable with Wide-angle?

I love my Voigtlander R3M as much as my mom. So far, I'm quite pleased by the quality of the camera and the photos.
The build-on viewfinder is adapted only for 40, 50, 75, and 90 mm lens. I got my camera with the collapsible Heliar 50/2 lens.
Regarding wide-angle lenses, I got a Color skopar 21/4 that I love as much as my Voigtlander. I bought a little viewfinder that can be adapted on the camera --> [link]

Your father has a very interesting face - lots of character. I love his very intellectual looking beard and glasses, complimented by his very sporty Adidas jacket. Cute combo. Its a very nice portrait.

I was actually annoyed by his Adidas jacket. It draws too much attention. I couldn't either disturb him. I should have tried taking a photo another day... when he had his Nike jacket!!

J'ai pas mal de choses a dire ici, je t'envoie un email illustre. En tout cas, j'adore, bcp de potentiel DD-like mais faut revoir un peu l'editing. En tout cas, c'est de l'or en barre

Je veux bien revoir ma copie pour le plug et le cadre, mais je ne veux pas la couper cette photo. Je me la joue... toi! Le Bessa, c'est comme l'holga. J'ai bcp plus de mal a modifier, tricher et cropper les photos.
Le cookie light? Oui pourquoi pas... j'ai seulement peur que ca attenue le cote naturel du portrait.

I took 3 frames of him sculpting. Among them, one had the statue in focus but not my dad.
However, this one had the best framing. Maybe next time, I'll do it!

Yes I do develop all my black and white negs (even the ones taken with my Holga). The 4 last negs were bad because (and I figured it out after 4 negs!!!) the developing solution was too old!! I was very upset: 2 negs with my photos of our WE in San Francisco gone!!
For the 2 other negs, I can somehow try to rescue some of the photos (but not all) by playing with levels on PS...
That's what I did with this one.

you wanna say the developing solution (processing?) had already expired? that's how i understood it .. anyways, guess we have to learn it the hard way. but if things work out it's rewarding i think. last time in the darkroom i was using a completely wasted stopper for my prints. hehe. it can only get better

Superbe ! Exacteent le genre de photo que j'aime ! En détails, le grain est magnifique, la mise au point est excellente et, détail qui tue: la lumière qui brille dans ses yeux alors qu'il regarde son oeuvre. Elle contraste avec son apparence austère. Le feu qui brule à l'intérieur de lui ! Plus beau et plus interessant qu'il n'y parait au premier regard, ce portrait !
