No, this guy isn't from any of my current stories. The design came to me while my co-writer Zwei and I were discussing ideas for new stories; he mentioned something about doing a story with a demon or demons, the old creative gears started turning, and before I knew it... this guy showed up on the doorstep of my mind.

His name's Syn Wrathborne, and your first guess on what he is is probably right. Overall, he's fairly withdrawn and awkward, though he can also be surprisingly sweet and friendly once he's warmed up to someone (surprising only on account of his race's typical disposition).

With luck, I'll have a preview of the story he's from (working title: "A Demon in Los Angeles") up for you guys to read before long.

Note that I didn't draw him in color; rather, I loaded a sketch of the character into Illustrator and added solid black lines with the Pen and Pencil tools, then exported that as a .JPEG and loaded it into Photoshop for coloring using the various styles and opacities of the Brush tool. Tedious, yes, but hopefully the effort was worth it.

Anyway, please tell me what you think, folks. Or don't, if it's too much trouble...
