Description Tolkien fanart - a random Noldo in the place in Aman that I temporarily called Ivy House. About a year old, a fallout of boring classes and my fascination with ramblers in general, and a little bit inspired by fanfiction "The Follower", where ramblers were an important part of the construction of Feanor's residence. I liked this idea and I still consider ivy a very "elvish" plant. Good for ornaments, too
Critique is really welcome, especially regarding proportions and anatomy - I still can't draw humanoids.

A4, pencil.

This is a wonderful drawing, I like it very much. I love the folds you did on his clothes, and his hair. And the branches that are entwined in the column behind his hair; this is my favourite part here Furthermore, the whole drawing has a melancholic feeling, like this Noldo feels sad about something.
I think "The Follower" is a good fanfiction

About critique, I don't think I'll be of much help there, because I have a bit of a problem with anatomy too. So I don't see anything wrong about this drawing; perhaps some people more experienced will have something to point out.

All I can say is that you did a very very good job!

I'm glad that you like his hair and the branch ornaments, it was fun to draw. The folds on the clothes weren't so easy, but actually, because of that it's even more ego-stroking that they went out well XD And if the melancholic atmosphere can be seen here, that's great, I wanted to catch something like that, maybe a sense of tiredness and thoughtfulness after a longer poetic discussion or artistic work.
Also, it's definitely true what you wrote about "The Follower" - to me, it's one of the best fanfictions about Feanor, his House, his sons (and, what's especially important, Maglor is described extremely well there ).
If there are no tragic mistakes in anatomy visible from the first moment of looking at the picture, it is enough for me really, taking into consideration my lack of practice.
So, thank you very much for a longer and more extensive comment, it is very reassuring and I really appreciate it.

Yeees!! I agree with you so much about the fact that Maglor is wonderfully described in "The Follower"!! Just as he should be I especially loved that part where he said something, and in Fingon's ears it was like a melody...

You're very welcome!

Yes, "just as he should be" is the best thing to say here. But, my favourite part of this fanfiction is probably the description of Maglor singing and the effect his voice has on the listeners... So powerful and beautiful
Thanks again!

Yes, it's perfectly correct and so nice... It may be getting boring, but really, thank you again, Annathelle
