I had a dream very much like this.
I was being taken my dark spirits, dragged by deep shadows, there touch was like ice and there eyes as deep as dark water. I fought them to resist what was happening to me but my humanity was no match for the demons dragging me, then I started to change in to a Lion, my eyes burned yellow and my head burst forth fangs and a thick red main and I sank my teeth in to the dark things that had me in there power.
one of them recoiled and seemed frightened with this new me, the Lion headed human like in your picture, my heart raced with wild power and the Lion within me was ferocious and utterly malevolent as it roared, all the dark spirits shrank away in to the dark corners of my room and I started to become human again... All this happened to me in my dream I woke up shaking but unafraid.

A very powerful symbolic present is felt in which I imagine one being the center of a hybrid being forge by experiences delving in negativity. I could say that these are the constellations of the stars that depicts the chaotic universe of our lives or at worst, the cannibalistic approach of solving problems of the world.
