"This illustration shows an emaciated humanoid with bone-white skin. Although he is naked, he has no navel, nipples, or genitals. A long cut, from groin to throat, runs up his body, the edges angry and red and stitched shut with thick black twine. here and there, the twine has snapped, allowing small clusters of long black insectoid legs to reach out and scratch for purchase on his pale flesh, as if the swarm of long-legged spiders and ants inside him are trying to escape. Lascer's feet are impaled on dozens of shards of broken glass, many of which jut up cruelly from his instep. His arms are long and thin, and each grips a saw-edged rapier. The handles of each rapier have long thin wires emerging from the pommels that have wound through his hands, stitching them permanently into his fists. His head is androgynous, his mouth larger than it should be with no cheeks and lots of needle-like teeth. His eyes are narrow red slits. He has no body hair, and his ears are long and pointed."
