Something to keep in mind, maybe: if you're doing CG, then either stick to airbrush or the paintbrush. The soft airbrushed parts clash with the harsh fur-structure. The fur looks like you had a lot of work with it This tutorial by Socar Myles may help you, too: [link] She not only has a very good tutorial on drawing fur, but she is also a master of color. I think, you need to train your basic knowlegde of colors and textures and that you're already on the right path.

Thank you ^^! I didn't exactly use any airbrushing here. Most of the softness that's on the picture is a result of the smudge brush I tend to use a lot > .O; I know what you mean about the harshness. Heck, I don't even have the proper direction of the flow of the fur down . That tutorial of Socar Myles is pretty good, and I did something similar to that. The other tutorial from starfinder suggested the same slow buildup of fur over a base, but I just went strand-crazy since I don't have to patience to slowly fill up a spot with individual strands of hair . That's something I have to work on, too, besides basic knowledge of colors, textures, and values =\. Anyway, thank you for your comment and advice . I wish more people left comments like this
