a touching, vulnerable side to beryl - doesn't make what she did right, but you can feel for her...
(especially with some headcanon of beryl growing up near endymion and/or at the earthen court)

Wheee, I love fanart which sheds some light on aspects of Sailor Moon which tend to get overlooked a little. ... Btw, ever noticed how much unfulfilled love and heartbreak there is in Sailor Moon? I haven't counted yet, but I have the feeling the happy couples are actually in the minority. Beryl longs unhappily for Prince Endymion, Sailor Pluto longs unhappily for Kind Endymion, Princess Serenity and Endymion might be together but also die young together, manga Haruka has at least a unhappy crush on Usagi, Luna has a sad one-sided love for Kakeru ... etc. etc. etc. .

Yes I've definitely noticed all the heartbreak! I'd say for sure that happy couples are in the minority, just about every character in Sailor Moon has either a sad romance or unrequited love story. The villains of course, have a lot of sad stories, but the sailor senshi really do too. The senshi pretty much always choose duty over other things in their life (with Minako it's even stated outright) and even those that don't tend to fall in love with someone they can't have or lose who they love (like Kakyuu.) And yeah, even though Usagi and Mamoru are probably the ultimate happy ending as far as Sailor Moon romances go, they still have their sad past lives.
I always thought Naoko wrote excellent sad romance stories though, I kind of preferred them to her happy ones, haha.

A first I thought it was Neherenia, and I wondered why her hair wasn't black. Then I realized, "Ah! Beryl!" And figured she was jealous, too. Very sad, and well depicted. I love your depictions of Sailor Moon as a whole.
