Actually I found The Graveyard Book insanely adorable. Who wouldn’t want to grow up among ghosts and have a vampire teach you your ABCs? Talking about vampires I think Silas might be too uptight to act this way. Or even smile. I can’t remember if he’s done either

There's nothing at all wrong with reading children's books. AT. ALL. EVER.
Anyway, this book was so sweet. Just so sweet, I literally cried at the end. And Silas is one of the most awesome babysitters/guardians. I mean, he got himself hit by a police car for Bod. If that ain't love, man.
But, yeah, like they said sometimes in the book, Silas isn't the hugging type. And this pic is adorable!

xD I know, I only bought it because a local bookshop was closing down, they had discounted everything and I had heard the name "Gaiman" before. When I got to reading it all the way through the book I was like "aawwwwwwww"

Perhaps if Silas got too close to Bod, in a hug like you say, he might feel too tempted to bite. Kids blood is pretty tasty.
