Week 2

Woo yay, I actually made another picture in a week... Actually it was more like a day and a half, I made this on a weekend and the rest of the week I didn't. But hey I think this turned out pretty good, like look at that shadow! Man am I proud of that. Also I learned a bunch of things about krita, like okay. So like I drew the sketch out of my reference picture right - that's another thing I actually used a reference right this time, so woo! But back to the topic so like I turned the sketch opacity down so I could colour it in, and then the colours blended in with the outline and like I really liked how that looked so I kept it. But then I added the other colours that are not the base - orange and white parts - and apparently that also mixed in with the transparent outline... in hindsight I should've seen that coming, but that's not the point. Now I didn't like how that looked so my solution was to copy the actual colour of the transparent outline and hey that worked, but my god I spent soo much time just figuring that out and like I feel there should be a tool for that or something. But I digress, I actually liked the process on how I made this picture so I might just learned how to actually complete a picture. Oh right also the little fur thing on her chest, tell me if that looks weird or not, I do not know how to make fur, but I will! Eventually

Wow okay that was long but eh, if you're still reading then thanks for listening to me ramble. Anyway time to actually subject of the picture, Spottedleaf! Eh uhm, well you know I actually really like Spottedleaf, but I don't know if it's the actual Spottedleaf or the Spottedleaf I have in my head. She's kinda weird in that she doesn't really have much of a personality past the surface level nice, caring, and such. And I'm actively trying to avoid talking about her relationship with other cats, because that would be too long in this already long description. Honestly I really like mostly because I can imagine in anyway I like and like I know about 'evil Spottedleaf' and like at first I kinda really like it. But the more I thought about it the more like I thought how out of left field that would be. Like I like the idea of giving more stuff to do and have ulterior motives and more of a solid personality, but making just fully evil just feels off. So what I like to do is have her like oppose StarClan and like other things, but that's a story for another time, maybe I'll get to that... someday

Anyway phew final part, what I could improve. I think that execution of all the stuff I did here - better anatomy, better shading, etc - I think that would come as I draw more, but that's the thing I need to draw more so I hope I could keep this pace up. I think I found a good rhythm here. Of course maybe there's some fundamental thing that I'm just missing, so if you know please tell me, thank you!
