Is there any other way, besides light OR a "stylistically" separate focal point, to provide a strong sense of focus for an street-level painting like this? At least this one, which I like, I feel like the light is definitely providing me that eye magnetism.

I find it very fascinating how you managed to make even such warm colours as orange and yellow look eerie, and the bright light above threatening.
