I really like this Noah! And I had no idea that you were a "Country Boy". I have met a few rock climbers from the area and they were incredibly nice people.

Thank you Mark I am indeed .. I grew up on my grand parents farm in Slovakia And I love mountains and everything about them! Probably the nicest ever experience was the view of Mount Everest in Himalayas 2 years ago .. it was a shame that weather did not allow me to get all the way to the foot of the mountain, but I said to myself I will be back one day!

thank you very much, it's greatly appreciated I have a tip for you .. you need to go out there and take photos, I believe that's the best way how to learn to understand composition, geometry and especially light

easier said then done D:

well of course it's the easiest to advice, you're right, but on the other hand without going out there you won't learn anything. You have to experience your camera, get to know it as your right hand .. find out how camera and exposure settings operate in particular light conditions. With geometry it's very individual, some people love straight lines and are almost mathematically precise clear linea (me ), some people prefer wild angles and lines .. you need to find what works for you and again, you need to go out and take photographs i'm more then sure that following books about photography will teach your the technical stuff but it doesn't teach you how to take a great photograph.

But you can when you take photos ..!

Analyze your work, upload it to whereever you can and get the feedback, = learn from it. Learn from your mistakes. Don't be ashamed to go and take the same photograph with different exposures

Follow photographers you like, follow photography groups .. it will give you another point of view good luck!

sorry, but can I bother you to have a look at my gallery?

I would like your opinion on everything as well! and I really really love criticism! I don't mind if you say i suck, as long as you say it mindfully and explain it! Because that way I know how to fix it. it's the best way to learn because it really sticks in your head until you figure out and get it right! I would really appreciate it though! I also like to know what I do right!

and I thought of an idea but I probably wouldn't have thought about it if I didn't have a moment to think about it, which was thanks to you!

so thank you! ^__^

I already looked in you gallery and the reason why I haven't commented to any of your work is simply your work is out of my genre and I don't know anything about macro photography, sorry you need to find a related groups that focus on macro and still life and communicate with fellows there i'm portrait and street photographer and that's what i can discuss Ā

i think they all follow a same principle. lighting, composure, geometry as you said, it's needed for all types of photos. that's what makes a good photo a good photo.

macro is only macro because the object is smaller. but a portrait is similar in a sense. if the person is out of focus, it doesn't look nice, just like a macro. but will try to take more portraits and street pictures though! those type of pictures are just less available to me, but really cool in theory!
