Was this the piece you were talking about earlier ? See you were experimenting with shading and hue-ing(?) including specular highlighting parts which are not on the reference. Hah hah, his sheeny face must be from wielding such a heavy sword, which we didn’t need to see to understand his aggressive power! (I’ve never seen/read any Bleach, so I have no idea what he’s about.) The key lights at such oblique angles you make us believe do that. Who knew the liquid paper could be used for art? I noticed strokes serving more different purposes than usual. Could it be that you amassed so many techniques from studying artists that you kept going trying to include many of those ideas? I really don’t consider myself a drawing artist nor critic but I find myself doing that, thinking I can connect with the state of the art. With so many favs in only a day, you’re doing many things right! So for goodness sake, please don’t scrap it if it can serve as a good page of reference notes!

Yup that is the old piece I was talking about. Ichigo wields indeed a huge sword. I'm amazed that you figured it out without even knowing the show or seen the scene. Maybe it isn't so bad. Though I did try to use too many styles here. My mom said said I had to learn when to quit.

What can I say? I guess I have very receptive eyes (no pressure though) and a couple minutes browsing Google Images filled me in on his usual portraits. There'll definitely be gaps in my impression, like when I finally heard Doraemon's voice - Ah! His voice doesn't have to sound like an old man! Consolidating many of your style experiments into one project saves time and the positive reception indicates they weren't bad choices to put together. The beauty of being employed for a hired project is that someone else will tell you when to keep working or stop, eh?
