I think I've teased you all enough with The Hunt for Everest event, well... here she is. Everyone's favorite Husky, Everest!
Everest is my most requested character to draw, like... really requested. And I don't blame them, because I love her myself, although it might be slightly biased...
On one hand my more critical mind is like: 'dude, she's not even that well written, and is a bit too perfect at what she does, don't you think she's a bit of a Mary-'
And on the other side of my mind: OMG CUTE FLOOFY PUPPY I NEED TO HUG IT
Still I think Everest was a good addition, and I don't really think she felt forced.
(Redesign)
Unlike Timber, Everest's uniform is meant to look like it was for the next generation of snow rescue pups, and looks more fancy. I've based her Jacket off a mountain climbing jacket, gave her a harness for climbing, and thick winter pants. I've also added in some darker shades of turquoise and some mint to compliment her color scheme. Overall, this is my favorite redesigned uniform so far, and I am very happy with how it turned out.
Like most of the other pups, her fur pattern has been updated to look more accurate.

Everest is a Siberian Husky, it really wouldn't surprise me if that means she's Russian (or at least of Russian decent). Especially considering how (if I remember correctly) that dogs of eastern European origin were not popular outside the Warsaw pact until the fall of the USSR. Β Β

Well... this PAW Patrol AU takes place in the year 2030, so I think there's more than enough time.
Also, breeds usually don't confirm where the character comes from, despite being a German Shepherd, Chase is American.

I did a little research into their heritage and found that Siberian Huskies are mainly bread by Inuits and Yupiks (Inuits; Russian edition). And while they didnβt suffer in the fall of communism as badly as other Slavic dog breeds (the Caucasus Mountain dog is a different story, they slaughtered 5000)

Caucasian dogs were infamously used in Gulags. still used today. They are BIG dogs coming in at 200lbs and I've heard reports that they can also get to a whopping 300lbs (That is Gigantic by any dog standards). also, my apologies if this is irrelevant and confusing

I Love this Everest you did! Though I'm surprised really that you didn't make her nationality Russian considering Timber's now Swiss! But I thought it would be Everest who'd be Japanese!
And her being number 08 Isn't an error is it? Unlike the show, you're planning on making the pups the correct numbering, am I right?

So since the pups are the ones being numbered and not their vehicles, then why not just renumber each pup and make Chase #1 since there are some fans who consider him the team-leader and have Ryder as head-of-command/mission-commander without giving him a number?

Ryder functions similarly to how he does in the show, while the pups will have some control in the missions, Ryder is still the leader and a member. So he gets a number
There are however, multiples of each large vehicle, and not just a single one used for everything, which is why they don't receive numbers, or have their own numbering system.
Don't get me wrong, Chase is still a leader, he is on a similar ground to Ryder, but just not as much.

I wish he was, it would prove the pups to being more independent without Ryder. I mean Chase already did a good job at leading a mission and giving orders in Pups Save Ryder in which they went on all by themselves. Chase to me and others I know will always be the definitive leader of the team. And besides, a leader doesn't always have to be human. And Chase is the most qualified. Just saying

I believe the reason Ryder was added was to add some humanity to the show, and not just have dogs rescuing people on their own. Trust me, I would have loved it if it was just the pups, but I guess they needed a human who can function similarly to the pups, to ensure that not all humans are completely incompetent. Or maybe they needed him for more advanced tasks the pups can't do.
Or maybe they just needed a human, for the watchers to project themselves onto, to show that the pups are indeed similar to pets, and they can be yours too. I don't know.
Still, when I first found out about PAW Patrol, I had no idea Ryder even existed in the show, as all I found was fanart of the pups.
