Good question, whose work inspires what I make. I don't have a particularly good answer, but maybe this will be useful. Or not.

My inspirations generally come from somewhere well under or behind the parts of my mind I can consciously access. I'm *interested* in and and get impressions - that may not be the right word - from those who photograph of create images of detailed landscapes, cities, and creatures - imaginary and real.

The following is not a complete list, just those I happened to remember at this moment. Your own work would be here - but you are already familiar with what you do and who you are. I've included the username, linked to their profile, and a sample image. Two, in the case of owen-c.

chateaugrief ( Mt. Shasta )

Grafit-art   ( Christmas in SuperCity )

Pajunen ( Somewhere Else )

parallel-pam ( Sagrada Familia )

these are gorgeous!! thank you so much for sharing and I am honored that you believe I would be a part of this list <3

I agree that inspiration is something based within you. everyone gets inspired by different things and it is driven by what you are interested in. In the past I hated drawing landscapes so I was honestly a little bored seeing paintings like these. But I've started working on improving in that aspect and now the same types of paintings suddenly inspire me!

My pleasure.

About landscapes and other subjects I see a lot of, and like - - - I've long since started seeing strong similarities in composition, pose - that sort of thing. I wouldn't quite call my response 'bored.' I've learned to take a look at how they handled the familiar forms - - - and look closely when they didn't quite follow the crowd: and achieved good results.

I don't try to copy anyone's style - but I think there's generally something to be learned by paying attention to others' works.

In your case, I particularly enjoy seeing how you handle - and what you do with - colors and tones. Also your apparent willingness to use quite a few different combinations.

that is a good perspective to have! even when looking at art that you may not like, but others seem to enjoy. You can still learn to see what makes the art valuable to some people and maybe apply those elements to your own work
I think when I had the response of being bored it was because I wasn't appreciating the skill and knowledge that went into the painting. I find trying to do something similar quickly makes me realize how impressive some paintings are and then I gain more appreciation for them! But now that I've done that a few times I've started to appreciate things without needing to try them myself as much haha

oh nice! I'm glad that you enjoy my choice of colors Its definitely something I try to push and experiment with a lot!
