Description I painted this as my dad's christmas present. He'd been bugging me for a looooooong time to paint him a picture of a deer, so I gave it to him for christmas!

Tools used: pencils, watercolor paper, watercolor paint, white poster paint, and masking fluid.
Time: about 10 hours.

So sweet and so innocent. You captured the innocence and calmness of a forest with snow and a deer. You did a good job painting the trees. I like that not one tree is the same and each have a different amount of branches placed in different spots on them. It looks so cool and like you are looking into an actual forest being able to see through the bare tree branches and see the other sides. I would have tried to make the deer's eyes the same size though. Also I would have tried to balance the shape and size of the ears out. Other then that good job e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sā€¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

You're good at this kind of thing. I would offer that you critique my future mother-in-law but fear the exposure would not only traumatize you beyond recovery, but also destroy your ability to trust another human being's suggestions ever again. Ever. EV-ER. I like you too much to do that to you. Today.

Ever. :/

I've always wanted a critique of these pieces. I don't know if you can do one since I'm not a paid member but would you honor me greatly by spamming my comments with your assessment? If you can it's this one-

Well, sometimes she's ok if considering the difference between fire ants and all of the other kinds. But both are still pests. :/

Lovely! The colours are vivid and cheerful, not the usual dreary colour choices you see in a winter-themed piece. This is far more enjoyable to look at! Hope your dad liked it; he should.

Thank you so much!

I love bright colors! It is very rare to see me paint a piece with dreary colors!

My dad cried when I gave it to him LOL

XD Aww, that's so nice! What a compliment.

:3 I prefer vivid colours as well. It seems to be a little "theme" in photography (my common medium) as of late to use muted tones, and honestly, I feel for me that that sucks the life out of my pictures, so I don't buy into that. I like my colours BOLD.
