its rare that I can find artwork with a message that really resonates with me. I don't know if you can understand, but I hope you do. The emotions really come through. Regret, sorrow, shameβand yet, he stands right on top of that pile, making no excuses. How noble. And its true to his character.
It's hard being someone that you don't want to be....
And I love how you can see how living that way has affected even him.

A soft whimper... I heard that whimper. Walking torwards the soβcalled Maverick Graveyard, I saw X, standing there and weeping like a small child, crying for his mother.
"X..." My voice trailed off, but he wasn't listening to me.
"Why... Why must I fight...?" I heard him say. Walking up, I gently rested a hand on his shoulder, which caused him to turn around. "Snow... What are you doing here?" He had asked. I gently smiled.
"Let's go back to HQ."

I have heard that one version of Hell is a valley of skulls.. While X destroyed countless mavericks in the name of peace, this is an appropriate analogy of his regret and remorse on other side of that coin...

This is so perfectly X... after all is said and done, Mavericks were once like him, good with a sense of justice, and X now weeps for them that they had to end up like this... many of them by his very own buster. And that tear running down poor X's cheek...awww... just, awww.
It's a very inspiring piece. I love the monochrome tone of your drawing, and the smokey look of the air and sky is a nice contrast against the sharp lines of the image of X standing over a heap of destroyed robots. They give a desolate, melancholy atmosphere to the whole piece, which is right for this. The detail on X's damaged parts with cracks and chunks of missing armor can give one the feeling that he's just fought a battle against Mavericks along with other Maverick Hunters, and he could perhaps be also weeping for the lost lives of the other Hunters who may possibly also be in that heap.

That's really beautiful. You could have gotten away with far less detail, but you put so much care into the carnage, that it really feels as if for a moment, you recognize certain bosses and mechaniloids from this scrap heap, if only vaguely.
