good work on this picture as well. and sadly i do have to agree with you about Kitana being boring. her backstory is just so...generic and over-used. Mileena is much more interesting to me.

Mileena is just awesome to begin with. I don't know much about Kitana. Maybe I'd like her if I ever paid attention to her storylines. 
I'm trying to redraw her now. Maybe make it a little more interesting. :]

i agree that Mileena was awesome from the very beginning
heres a short little backstory of Kitana: her father got killed by shao-kahn, sindel(her mother) killed herself, she didnt know about that until shao-kahn revealed the truth himself, and then she went on the good side and tries to help to destroy all invadors to try to take over Edenia (the place where she lives.) i dont hate anything against Kitana in general.
however she was bitch to Mileena in MK: Gold. here's her ending [link] and keep in mind that Mileena HELPED her during the events of that game...and yet she still treats her like trash.

The newest one? We've got all of the MK games, I've played most of them. I don't go through a lot of storyline stuff with the MK games. Mostly 2 player stuff. And my boyfriend is way good at it so I usually get frustrated and don't want to play anymore after a couple of hours. Haha
I do like the new one, though. Test Your Luck is really fun.

but seeing as MK9 has a story mode, you might want to try that out. its really fun

I probably will eventually. I'm a very not-good-at-stuff casual gamer so story modes are most of the time not doable. hahaha
I did play MK vs DC. I didn't really like it much. The newest MK has been my favorite since the SNES ones. I like the 2D stuff.

i thought MK vs. DC was not the worst MK game in my opinion. at least it had some things about it what fun where (story mode, nice arenas, etc.) but it really wasn't much of an MK game. horrible fatalities, ugly character models and overal a dimb idea to make it a cross-over game.
