Totally agree . A lot of people consider themselves as muslims but in fact they're not .
Islam is Great! But people don't see its glory.
Just ask yourself : Who created this great world including humans, animals , nature , planets , oceans , sky... It's uncountable . So human can not create it and Jesus is a human , i beleive that he's a massenger of God like Muhammed but we can't say that he is God.

It's more like "Middle Eastern culture uses Islam (a functional religion with as many quirks/stupid things as Christianity) as a crutch and excuse to be the complete jerks their culture wants anyway. In some places in East Africa, Islam is the civil religion relative to the other thought patterns, and in Indonesia, Islam is 'a religion, duh' the same way Christianity was a few dozen years ago in Europe.
That being said, it's still a religion, and an entire culture adhering to something that firmly isn't a good idea. Indonesia and East Africa are not Denmark.

it's people like you who rely solely upon Television and Newspapers to inform them regarding other religions. I've read and researched plenty on several religions. I've read a lot on Christianity and have understood several of their beliefs and have no grudge against them whatsoever, I find myself lucky to have gained so much knowledge about both your own and my religion- if I had not, I would be in the same position as you, pointing fingers (unnecessarily) at you, claiming about the several wrong doers within your religion: i.e. the several priests/popes known to have participated in child abuse/rape. As I am aware just because of those priests/popes tarnishing the image of Christianity and your faith, I am not going to jump to conclusions regarding your faith and I sincerely hope you won't do the same with mine.
I understand you may have gained false information regarding our religion and sincerely hope, that you (like I had done) read more books upon Islam and gain an insight into what our religion is like. I know it seems a lot more easier pointing fingers and mentioning pedophiles but trust me, once you have learnt and read upon our religion and gained true, authentic information upon it, i'm sure you won't regret from the vast knowledge you will have gained.

I think the people who complain that we, the Muslim women, are oppressed and have no freedom aren't very intelligent. They just listen to the few women who scream to the public that they're oppressed... and just look at them... they aren't real Muslimas! They're an insult for all the Muslim woman who love their Creator and their Religion! Being a Muslimah, you should try to do more studying instead of arguing or debating that the Quran is wrong or etc. You, as a Muslimah, you have a certain power that men do not have. The power to guide and enlighten your own children, through them you'll gain richness of the heart, through them you'll gain His love, through them, you will gain the Afterworld. If you study the hadith of our most beloved Prophet, Muhammad SAW, you will see, your heart will see and InsyaAllah accept the real beauty of Islam. Bullshit. It sounds to you that you haven't even read the Quran. All religious books are very oppressive and mean to the ground. That's because of that it was another time when it was written. You can't say that the Quran and islam isn't offensive. It all depends to the person that interprets it. There are so many people in our patriarchal society that is interpreting it wrong and unequal. You cannot say that Quran have direct meanings, it also have indirect meanings and only some scholars will understand. you will find :
Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has made one of them to excel the other, and because they spend (to support them) from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient (to Allah and to their husbands), and guard in the husbands absence what Allah orders them to guard (e.g. their chastity, their husbands property, etc.). As to those women on whose part you see illconduct, admonish them (first), (next), refuse to share their beds, (and last) beat them (lightly, if it is useful), but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance). Surely, Allah is Ever Most High, Most Great.
