Star Wars here again, my friend. Now, I'm not just telling you for the sake of you knowing. I'm obligated by family laws, to inform the republic, er public. Star Wars has never been a "movie" in my house...it's what life is beyond the stars you see at night. When I was a child in the 80's, I believed that whenever you turned on the TV...Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, were the only shows forever playing...on every channel...24 hrs. a day. I never really fully got the movies, when I was a youngin...just that there was a big dog named Chewie, some woman wore rolls on her head, a dyslexic midget named Yoda, and Luke...who creepily looks like my brother Bill...

Yeah, so sue me that it took me until some geography class in grammar school when I realized Naboo, Alderaan, Tatooine weren't really countries anywhere in my world...but made up? Who would of thunk it?

I remember in 1997, my brothers (who by the ways are 2 and 4 years older than me) found out about the Special Edition Star Wars movies that where coming out that summer. That was the highlight moment of their lives. To see the Star Wars movies, all three on a theater movie screen, for the first time, or once again. I even admit. I was excited like the dumbass Sophomore high school student we all once were. But just like a young jedi...I had no choice.

But eventually that all ended...but low and behold...the news of a PREQUEL series of Star Wars movies describing the life of Anakin Skywalker growing up to only become the most evil of the Sith...Darth Vader was to come out in the Spring of 1999. Holy Fuck.

Well, my Senior year of high school eventually came along. As did the release of Episode I : The Phantom Menace. My brothers and their friends had at least a group of 25 people who were attending the 10pm showing that night. My brother realized around 4:30pm that afternoon, that they had ONE extra ticket...I guess and since my brothers didn't have anyone else to invite they told me...not asked...told me that I was going to see the movie with them.

Well, I even have to admit...I LOVED it. Never have I've ever been at a movie where people sat up and cheered when "LUCAS FILMS" glittered on the screen...it was the most insane thing I've ever witnessed. (Only downside, is that movie caused me to have the Ewan McGregor obession for about 6 months...crazy). We sat at Omega Restaurant until 4am, just going over the script of the movie. Aye.

Now...6 years later to the DATE. Revenge of the Sith is coming to theaters. I don't know for sure all the people going...but I know that I have a ticket, and my friend Julie. And this time we are going to the 12:01am showing this Thursday morning. I even switched days from work so that I don't have to be a zombie at work. Noyce.

It's amazing, thanks to my dad YEARS ago, for buying the bootleg copy from some guy at work, that created this obession with a movie with the simple name "Star Wars" with everyone in my household. We still have the originals...I do believe.

Thanks to George Lucas, for giving something for all the geeks in the world to lust after. Shame on the studios that poo-pooed the idea of a "lame" movie. Thanks George for spending most of your life to make movies that will never die. Everyday a Star Wars fan dies, but for only a new fan to be born.
