Nice colors, shades and details. At a closer look some of the lines used to make shadows and hair look a bit rushed but it looks very realistic as a smaller picture still.

Glasses are a nice detail. Also, the words around his head in the first half are funky.

I am sorry that my critiques won't be as long as yours. Thank you, by the way, for that very thoughtful critique. I will start by saying that this picture is very good, and I can't find much wrong with it. There are a few things I would like to note. Please keep in mind that I am not a professional, and these are merely my thoughts.
On the second man, the hair is made with short strokes which do not follow where the hairlines look as though the should go. Perhaps if you used long strokes, and did each stroke as a bit of hair, then it would look more flowing and smooth.
I also noticed that the shadows on the lack for the one on the left look as though they are opposite the ones on the face. On the face, the shadows are on the left, but on the shoulder, the darkest shadows are on the right. I am not trying to sound rude in any way, but was that intended to be opposite? If so, for what reason?
The final thing I notice is that my eyes tend to want to go to the image on the left. The picture seems unbalanced in that the intensity is on the left, and the right seems empty. Perhaps add some darker colors, like a dark blue or purple to add shadows and balance the picture more.
Thank you for reading my thoughts. If they have helped, I will be greatly surprised.

The technique I used on the hair is done to take the attention away from it. By working harder and making the skin look nicer, that will be what catches the attention It has the same effect as when you for example would shade the skin really carefully with several colors while making the hair one, smooth color without any shading. It's a useful technique for working with backgrounds for example to try not to make a picture look too busy.
These are two separate pieces, I scanned and uploaded them as one for convenience since they are on two pages in my little sketchbook, hence the... umm... "spontaneous" look
If you look at them though, you'll notice that the one on the right has much more defined lines to it while the one on the left rather is concentrated on the surfaces and colors. (And I'd complain about his hands actually if I were you! xD I totally rushed those.)
Honestly, I have no idea how you even noticed that shadow thing, because I was rather messing around on the paper just trying to make the neck look a bit smoother, that's probably why the shadows were messed up (And I just noticed how I could make it look a lot better...)
If you'd like though, it would be nice of you to give some thoughts and opinions on some of the more "finished" artworks in my gallery, I'd really appreciate that

why, you mean why I like it? : D Well I haven't seen these kind of sketchy stuff from you a lot and I must say somehow this looks better to me than some of your more finished works. I think when you put so much time to your big and detailed colorful pieces, you forget the relaxedness these sketches have. You should try to let go abit maybe and try to simple and fast stuff and get the relaxed feel to the pictures. Detailes and all that look interesting and mindblowing but the overall athmosphere of the pictures is not relaxed and maybe you should try to get that. Don't have pressure to put in much details in your pictures and just relax. I hope this helps somehow. But specially here in mattis hair it's really interesting to see sort of a messy look in your line and I hope you could incorporate that into your other works as well!
