Description (You know I have a conspiracy theory that the real reason we had to desperately develop fighter jets that can go faster than Mach 1 was the fear of Rodan actually existing.)

G-Force File: #4
Subject Name: Rodan
Type: Prehistoric gargantuan Pterosaur
Height: 164 feet/50 meters
Wingspan: 394 feet/120-150 meters
Mass: 15,000 tons
History:

The Meganulon were gone, in their place was left a creature who was able to avoid being seen for quite sometime. A photograph, taken from a couple who sadly fell prey to the monster, revealed that the creature was Pterosaur in origin. Further research revealed that the creature was none other than the thought-to-be-extinct Rodan, the largest animal to take to the skies in existance.

No one was able to comprehend the new threat to Japan, simply because they didn't understand or they didn't want to, but the rising numbers of missing people and livestock made it difficult to ignore the situation. The search for Rodan's nest was underway, but it wasn't long before Rodan emerged from the base of Mt. Aso and took off, almost immedietly reaching the speed of sound.

The Japanese airforce was scrambled and engaged Rodan over the skies of Sasebo, before suffering heavy casualties and losing track of it. Rodan soon found its way into Fukuoka, where it immedietly landed to wreak havoc. Buildings and vehicles alike were blown away by the hurricane force winds. Ground forces barley made an impact against the winged-behemoth.

Just as it seemed things couldn't possibly get worse, they did. Another Rodan, the mate, entered Fukuoka's airspace and blew what little defense there was left away. The first Rodan took off after its mate, and both left Fukuoka in fiery ruins.

Japan was now in a dire crisis, possibly even worse since Godzilla: Not only were there two monsters, but two monsters that could most definetly reproduce and quickly overtake the Earth.

Thankfully, it was easy to track down the exact location of the Rodans' nest which was located right inside Mt. Aso. A plan was conceived to constantly bombard the dormant volcano until either it caved in completely, or it erupted.

The nearby village was evacuated and the plan was executed. Not five minutes into the bombardment, the volcano began to erupt. Both Rodans escaped before being overtaken by the lava, but one of the two soon succumbed to the billowing ash cloud and fell into the river of lava below it. What followed was an errie scene akin to Shakspeare, the mate never left the other's side, and soon to fell into the lava. Dying, the two still called out to each other, soon to be silenced completely.

Those last few moments of the two monsters entered the public's eye almost immedietly. Small groups of people began wondering if these monsters were more along the lines of victims rather than killers, after all every monster thus far was a prehistoric relic that did not know of the worlds advancement.

Seeing as though they had acted fast enough so that the two had no chance to reproduce, no search was ever conducted for any eggs. The Japanese soon came to regret that decision nearly a decade later...

Powers:

Supersonic flight: Rodan can fly at Mach 1.5, faster than any fighter jet at the time of its emergeance.

Hurricane Winds: Just by simply flapping its wings, Rodan can create a gust of wind of hurricane proportions.

Sonic Roar: Rodan was seen emitting a concentrated blast of wind from its mouth during its intitial raid on Fukuoka. Whether the new individual has it is open to debate.

A/N: Sorry for the delay, was working on my series again. This rounds out the 'Holy Trinity' of the Toho verse I believe. It's a damn shame that Rodan gets treated with little respect nowadays; initially he was a force to be reckoned with, even giving Godzilla a run for his money, but Toho seems to have forgotten the threat Rodan can pose.

Every time he's brought back it seems to be just as fodder for the cannon that is known as 'ridiculously overpowered Godzilla', or weakend greatly for 'mediocre anorexic Godzilla'. Seriously, has it gotten to the point where audiences can only believe Godzilla can be matched by a space monster or a robot, or the equivelent of Kenny from South Park? Making Godzilla's initial rivals into nothing less than fodder in revivals isn't good writing, in fact to me, it reeks of fanboyism that Chuck Norris fanboys can blush at.

Rodan should have stayed powerful, thats for sure. His sheer indifference to Showa Godzilla's breath weapon is what seals that opinion for me, that and he was even taller than Goji.

Design-wise I like how you brought the sheer monsterous look of his original form back. The tiny horns are a tad odd but otherwise it's a true blue Rodan for sure.

Very cool Rodan. Nice mix of Showa and Heisei, and a bit of your own neat monster design.
