… finally! This one has nearly broke me down. It was so difficult to work on all details!Remake of my old famous piece “Seven Wonders” that has received a couple of awards and attention (honestly? From my perspective, I think the old one was very poorly made piece… though it had a great energy) … and right at the end of this year, it’s making 10 year anniversary!
Now you can compare - 10 years of difference. Though, working on this one was giving me a terrible, terrible headache. Remaking old artwork is really interesting process, because it puts you on the pressure to do better what was done in the past - it helps you to look at your progress. I recommend making "remakes" of your old work.
Sleeping Tiger is filled with mesmerising energy. Peacefulness, symbolizing happiness and very moment of every day. That we all should feel more relaxed and grateful every day. The power of light. I have a big respect to “Seven Wonders” symbolism: the respect for nature and what is surrounding us.
The original is filled with pearlescent effect on the branch. So shiny!

Some yes, it really depends on the paper (material, method of hot pressing etc) and I find Cotton series are best with washes that are not too drying quickly. Check if they are cotton.

Yeah I noticed that too. I have tested some and I find least popular brands, or no-named ones worked best. No real rule with them - you just buy and test if works well for you.

This is awesome! I love the vibe this is giving, and it almost reminds me of like daydreams I had as a kid, of tigers playing and stuff, so it's kinda nostalgic for me too haha. Anyways, keep up the fantastic work!!

Gorgeous and deep colours. Orange and turquoise are one of the best colour combinations. and I like the texture of the water, fur, ferns, trunk, and lotuses.
There is also a nice contrast between how a tiger is a powerful and territorial solitary predator, yet s/he looks so relaxed and ease with everything.

difficult, but well worth it!! i love all the different values to show the muscle n tendons n whatnot. the details of the body are all very easy to make out, but at the same time, it's not too forced or overdone. all the different shades are fantastic too! your colour choices are perfect, and you did a great job of making a whole rainbow look good together (impressive vs like yknow, just picking a couple for a limited colour scheme)
