How do you get such tight pencil lines? Mine are always so large and bulky....

I use just 0.5 mechanical pencil.

There's a couple of strategies you can use to get fine details like that.
1: Scale up your drawing. Make it on a larger piece of paper.
2: Sharpen every few strokes (when doing detail lines).
3: Invest in an 'H' '2H' or 'HB' pencil. These have harder graphites, meaning they dull slower. However, they typically produce lighter lines.
I personally prefer to scale up. I like to do the base and big lines on normal paper and project them onto a bigger paper. You can do this at a school or at your local library.
