updated wingy-nova ...honestly, i don't think of myself as winged, but people seem to really like them, and they ARE more fun to draw.
Nova is an arctic wolf with red tailed hawk wings/feathers and lynx-like tufts on the tops of her ears.
When i first decided to give her wings, they were RED.. like a typical red tail. Later i switched to white to match better, but said they were snowy owl instead. recently i discovered there's such a thing as a WHITE red tailed hawk (squee!) [link]
it's not an albino, which is a complete lack of pigment (and has pink eyes), but a leucistic, which means just a low amount of pigment.
anyways i was happy to discover this, which meant nova could return to her roots while still keeping the monochromatic color scheme
The little doodle in the background is some old (and i must emphasize - old - because she doesn't know i'm putting it in here and will bite my butt for showing it off, hehe) art from of nova and chad, the balloon.*
The three blue/purple jewels in nova's ear are the same ones has in her forehead...they are sisters.
nova's mate is the white dragon
*chad was a silly result of me wanting and not having a boyfriend, so the solution was to draw this face 0___o on balloon. yep.

Wow I admire how you always seem to add an amazing about of detail in everything you do, even in your doodles; it makes me feel kind of silly and armature, but makes me want to try even harder at what I do. If you were an art teacher to me I would be the one to get up every day just to be able to learn your amazing artness. In inspire me very much so. I admire how you didn't have her just with her paws on the ground, but with one moving, and that you didn't try and hide anything but put an amazing amount of detail in, like in all of your drawings

lol, you know that low pigment happens in all animals though so you could use that excuse for all fursonas xDD

i think wolves have to focus a lot more on using the toilet than birds do. with birds, it's all liquefied and comes out easy. wolves are like dogs.. gotta find a good spot in the grass, gotta make sure no one's looking...
i don't think they could fly AND poop

Thank god, because I don't have any helmets that go with any of my clothes. My rescue helmets at least have eye-shields. They'd be handy, I'd imagine.

I'm always amazed at how similar our characters are! You do the winged wuffy so well, I love it. We were discussing a commission sometime back but I suspect you got a bit busy... will you do another journal when you're ready to take on more commissions?

Same with what others are saying, most the time I am not good at/ do not like winged wolves/cats/ etc but this looks nice. You did a great job transitioning the feathers to fur etc. Great job!
