Description Purchase this print here: [link]

Picture taken in Montana de Oro State Park, California; water entering weathered pool from Pacific Ocean.

Long exposure at site using HOYA ND 8 and ND 4 filters simultaneously, then, in Photoshop, using the camera RAW file, combined 2 different exposure layers. No manipulation was performed, unless you call color curves manipulation, which I do not. (And my version of color curves is not actual color curves -- I use Photoshop Elements, which doesn't have that feature.) I did, of course, change the rock to blue to give the picture a focal point.

[EDIT 6/2/09] Fixed problems with blended layers.
[EDIT 4.30.10] Updated border and improved color.

I'd have to agree with you! Everyone thinks the same. It was one of those lucky things we just stumble upon sometimes. I went and revisited the beach I found it at a month or so ago and it looks nothing the same. water changes the way rock looks so quickly.

Such a LOVELY photo ... the movement in both the water and mud/sand(?) really have been elegantly captured! LOVE IT!

novelhill In reply to GilWarzecha [2010-02-09 02:38:27 +0000 UTC]

not mud or sand, but rock! The pounding of the waves carved the rock the way you see it.

I'm so glad you like this!

Yes! I really did! I purchased a 16x24!

it could still be processing. I had some problems with "notifications" when some of my friends and relatives purchased my calendar over Christmas. It'll come through...I already have an email from DA saying it is "in process"
