And … happy Valentine's Day … James and Rory are having a romantic moment, claiming some piece of James's Named One past as he brings a variety of flowers to bloom just to make her smile. He loves her smile. You can see which flowers are "his", the hyacinths, the hydrangeas, and snow blooming crocuses. Rory's are the tiger lilies-the fierce, bold day lily type with a new flower for each day dawning.
I tried something different with the colors--softened them and made it rosy to convey a romantic mood. I also kept shading very simple. I'm very happy with the result as it reminds me of my Mucha calendar and some of my favorite old fantasy book covers. This is doubly appropriate as a call for spring … there is a ton of snow outside.

Aw, thanks. I've been trying to focus on loosening my wrist when inking more. That is a challenge for me when I'm trying to be precise, then my wrist hurts and I loose the varied line widths.

A gorgeous image, so full of detail. I love the beautifully drawn flowers. It takes real daring to attempt hydrangeas and not make them look like cotton puffs.

Thank you. Though, it was tempting to go for cotton puffs and have Christian illustration-bomb it trying to eat the cotton-candy flowers.
